Viva San Pietro!

St. Peter is the patron saint of fishermen. St. Peter’s Square is a town landing and the central site of the annual St. Peter’s Fiesta, a four day celebration taking place over the weekend closest to the Feast Day of St. Peter, June 29. Since 1927, this four day summer celebration draws thousands of visitors and residents downtown for gatherings of boats for a Blessing of the Fleet, a colorful parade, boat and foot races, a carnival, and the greasy pole contest. Portuguese and Sicilian communities honor Our Lady of Good Voyage Church.
